You will learn how to turn those stories all your friends love into jokes that complete strangers will crack up at. You will learn how to command attention from an audience, how to convey your message and what it takes to get your name out there and become relevant in the world of comedy. And at the end of your session, you will perform on your own graduation show at Jokers Wild comedy club. And then begin your path on a career of stand up comedy.

Pat Oates starting doing comedy in 2007 at a bar in Naugatuck on a dare. Ever since, Pat has made a name for himself in New England and the tri state area as one of the hardest working comics today. Pat has been the house comedian at Jokers Wild in New Haven and Comix comedy club at Foxwoods casino. Pat has performed in the Fox theater in front of 1400 people, has appeared on Sirius/XM radio, been a guest on Robert Kellys YKWD podcast and has worked with some amazing comics, such as Jim Jefferies, Hannibal Burress, Patrice O'Neal, Greg Giraldo, Sussie Essman, Lenny Clarke, Gary Gulman and more.

Pats approach to teaching comedy school is that you cannot teach someone to be funny. But you can steer them in the right direction of how to begin a career, hobby or just interest in stand up comedy.

Class runs for 5 weeks, each class is 2 hours long. The classes take place at Jokers Wild Comedy club and are on Wednesdays from 6 to 8pm.  At the end of the session, the entire class will invite their friends and families to the graduation show, which every student will perform on, along with some professional comedians as well. Classes cost $200 and must be paid by the beginning of the 1st class. To sign up either call 203-773-0733 or email
